Job Description

Vestas American Wind Technology has an immediate opportunity for a Field SCADA Technician to support Vestas Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems, including servers, controllers, fiber optics, ethernet communications, routers, switches, and data collection.

The SCADA Technician provides primary hands on and remote support for maintenance of SCADA systems and cybersecurity technologies in support of SCADA staff for both internal and external customers. Field SCADA Technicians are tasked with complex questions and inquiries for areas of SCADA performance, behavior, and capability, as well as expected to maintain effective internal and customer facing relations both remotely and in person onsite.

Responsibilities

* Act as the Daily SCADA focal point for the given Area receiving and actioning tasks from the AME plant team via the SCADA ticketing system.

* Support the SCADA staff with technical matters related to the SCADA systems, including responding to complex customer and vendor inquiries, troubleshooting efforts/projects and root-cause analysis.

* Provide on call support for the customer and attend weekly meetings with customer to discuss technical details

* Provide training and direction to techs and site managers in the region on specific SCADA and reporting topics

* Provide local and remote support for SCADA equipment life cycle replacements

* Investigate and address with Turbine communications with the SCADA systems

* Support sites and SCADA staff in maintaining communication network to support SCADA operations.

* Implement changes to the daily operations of site hardware and software for SCADA systems

* Provide on call support for regional SCADA issues

* Other related tasks as directed

Qualifications

* Minimum of 2 years or equivalent experience in installation and maintenance of servers, networks and PLC's. HP Proliant experience advantageous.

* Has working knowledge within Microsoft OS, Server and SQL including administrative functionalities.

* Innate knowledge of computer system components and operation (routing, Switching and Microsoft operating systems) as used in SCADA environment.

* Cisco experience is desirable.

* Ability to work with key internal and external customers daily, manage expectations and influence customer satisfaction.

* Ability to answer complex technical questions, with some preparation, in a way that technical as well as non-technical audience can understand concepts.
