General Description - In the Project Buyer role, you will be responsible for awarding purchasing contracts under agreed terms and conditions based on product quality and budget requirements. You will be working with production and engineering to determine and ensure alignment with the overall needs of the project. Success in this role will be demonstrated by developing and implementing procurement strategies to minimize costs and drive profit margins.

Roles and Responsibilities -

Research, select and purchase quality products and materials.

Arranges with appropriate subcontractor for various services of shop work-in-process. Reviews material requests and prints for completeness of information so that vendor can comply with requirements.

Conducts periodic supplier visits to assess their service.

Carries out necessary follow-up and expediting activities to ensure delivery as required by production schedules.

Attends weekly Production meeting with Engineering, Production, Logistics, and Quality.

Build relationships with suppliers and negotiate with them for best pricing.

Resolve discrepancies and issues with invoices and purchases orders.

Monitor vendor performance and recommend necessary actions to Strategic Sourcing in order to improve performance, when necessary.

Monitor KPI's.

Analyze market trends and apply this knowledge to make insightful buying decision.

Other miscellaneous projects assigned by Supply Chain Manager.

To comply with Safety Rules, Regulations and OSHA Requirements In conjunction with OSHA law and/or requirements, apply the SafeStart safety training process when performing all work in order to reinforce practical safety training techniques, maintain awareness and prevent injury.

Follow the Atlas Copco "Safety First" policy with the vision of zero work related accidents.

Take all necessary actions to employ sustainable processes to safeguard the company's targets for Quality/Environment/Safety, Health and Energy/Resource Efficiency. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications -

Experience - Five years of relevant experience in Supply Chain/Procurement/Project buying. Education

Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Skills

Must be an independent self-starter with excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication, and problem-solving skills and multi-tasking.

Strong manufacturing background is a plus.

Knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 14000.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI.

Demonstrated accurate, timely and effective purchasing and negotiation skills as well as the ability to review, verify and process requisitions and purchase orders.
